Zoomba in the Park

Gilly has been running her Zoomba classes in the park most of the summer, right across from the Grand View.

Gilly (right): Hey, Sindy! Are you joining class?

Sindy: I'd love to but I'm trekking down to the Farmer's Market for some fresh produce, it's apple and pumpkin season now at the bakery. Oh, and I want to thank you, most of your students show up at the bakery after classes! Thanks, bunches.

Gilly: I know the delicious smell from your shop wafts across the street. It's hard to resist. Upside is they have to come back to class and wear off those extra calories.

Sindy: We do have some low calorie fruit drinks, and light lattes. I've been keeping multi-grain zucchini cookies in stock, the cocoa ones seem to be a favorite. I have to scram now...good luck with your classes. Thanks again, Gilly!

Gilly: You too, and class is always free for you if you have time.

A few minutes later, a small crowd arrives to start class.

Gilly: Hi Everyone! Let's get on the ground and get a few good stretches to warm up.

Zoe: Oh, my this really gets a good stretch.

Gilly: Remember you can also join our classes via Zoom, same fee, just in the comfort of your own home. Now let's do our other side...Stretch and hold.

Barbie: Oh, love that music (up down, up down, up down) Now we are cranking!

Gilly: Okay, now FASTER---you can do it, up down up down, UPPPPP down.

(Ugh, grunt, phew, ow, ugh, grunt, phew, OWWW!)

Gilly: NOW HOLD____that pose as long as you can, breathe slow and hold.

Barbie: Phew and hold.....she says, arrrrrgh...phew.....

(40 Minutes Later)

Gilly: Okay everyone on their back, get into your Vee positions. OKAY breathe and hold. Hold as long as you can.

(Collective Groans......)

Barbie: My shoes are too heavy.

Gilly: Keep those toes up! HOLD...don't forget to breathe.

(One by one they heels hit the ground.)

Kat and Gilly are the last two.

Kat: I think it was a tie, Gilly. Great class...everything hurts, LOL.

Early 7AM at Vickie and Joe's apartment

Joe: Hey, Sweetie, time to get up? What not even a grunt?

Cat: Purrrrrrrrrrrrr, purrrrrr!

Joe: Hmmm, she must have dashed out when I was taking my shower!

(Meanwhile Vicky hurries to the bakery to pick up her order for her gals at Vickie's Vintage.)

Vickie: Vickie's Vintage, how may I help you? Yes we have two appointments open this afternoon, each between 1-2 and 2-3. Yes masks are required and we have gloves and sanitizer available for your use. See you then, Miss Emilie and Miss Colette.

Vickie's Vintage, how may I help you? Yes, we are still open with appointments for your shopping safety. Six people are allowed in the store at one time for shopping.

We have an appointment between 2-3 open, we also have our website, VickiesV@blank.com.

Sure, many of our items are available online. Okay, we will see you at two this afternoon, thank you, bye.

An hour later after coffee and a complete wipe down of the store.

Zoe: Vickie, everything is ready upstairs.

Vickie: Great, please answer the door!

Zoe: It's Joe, Vickie.

Joe: I guess the honeymoon is over...not even a goodbye this morning.

Vickie: I hollered at you in the shower, but you were singing. I hollered, "JOE, I'm leaving, I LOVE YOU! "

Joe: Well, then, you deserve a good morning kiss, since I almost jumped on the cat in bed thinking it was you.

Vickie: (*giggle*) Have a good day!

AND HER WORKDAY Continues...! 9:30 AM

Vickie takes the phone calls and deals with the online orders. The phone and the computer emails never stop.

Zoe: That dress is perfect for you, Tanya. Shall I wrap it up.

Tanya the bride: Please do, and I need some shoes and hose. And I should have everything. I can't believe we are finally getting married. We were originally scheduled for March, but I think a park outdoor wedding this Sunday will do. And this dress is perfect!

Tanya: I hope so, the weather seems so up and down now, is it Fall or is it still summer?

Carly: Miss Colette, if you can't find anything down here, you can try upstairs, Zoe doesnt' have anyone up there right now.

Colette: This is perfect and I vant deez one too, and zee other one in blue.

Many hours and customers later, the door stops banging, the phone stops ringing, everything is wiped down for tomorrow.

And Joe shows up to take Vickie to the bank.

Carly: Goodnight, Officer and boss, see you tomorrow.

Vickie: Thanks, Carly. We have another full day of appointments tomorrow, and I shipped out 14 orders today. We are starting to get requests for Halloween though, we will have to decide what to do?

Nikki: We could make the whole shop Halloween, we have enough stock...for just four weeks? Will people venture out for Halloween in masks, LOL? I wonder.

Joe: Yea, they probably will, more than they do now. It's a gamble though? Halloween is usually a busy night for the police department, but every night is Halloween now.

Vickie: I'll have to check the numbers and what online venues are doing for the season, and see what might be happening?

Much later, back home, Joe is grilling supper!

Vickie: Hey Officer, aren't you a bit under-dressed.

Joe: It's hot in here, some idiot downstairs has their heat cranked up already, at least the deck out here is cooler. Dinner done in just a few minutes. How about some white wine, Sweetie.

Joe: Salmon, corn, I'm starving!

Vickie: I'm afraid to ask, how was your day?

Joe: Okay. But, I don't know which is worse, the politicians, the protestors, or the looters. Things seem to be getting under control, today anyway. I just need a day off, the whole department needs a time-out.

Joe: HEY Cat, that is not for you...you have to get down. (He puts a generous serving of salmon on Cat's dish)
