Doll Being an Influencer: What could Go WRONG?

Ad-free Blog

Ian (photographer): The light is great, just hold that while I zoom in the frame.

Barbie: Well it's freezing, so hurry up. Honestly doing a summer post in March in Chicagoland is insane.

Ian: Hold that smile while I take the stills. Oops, back up, I can see your goosebumps.

Barbie: No kidding, Sherlock!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Scarlet (in the background the producer): Let's start with the cleaning tips by the basketball thingy.

Ian: So Start at the Basketball Net. Now....we are on Video!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Welcome to everyone, this is Barbie in Chicagoland getting ready for Spring clean up and FUN in your Backyard.

Great tips: Get out your hoses, and scrubbing brushes out and start Spring Cleaning all your backyard furniture and equipment.
Here, I washed the basketball net in a bag in the washer with a little bleach and now it is fresh for the kids and bigger boys to practice their hoops.

Don't forget the other sports equipment and of course all the sports balls.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Lake Michigan is still too cold, but the rivers and streams are perfect for kayaking

(to herself---If you are an Eskimo).

These need a good scrub, too. Don't forget your life- jackets and paddles, so musty from being packed away all winter. Now to the Grill.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

After scrubbing down the grill, and the outdoor cabinet, we have all our equipment ready for the first Spring Hot Dogs here in Chicagoland.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Don't forget to have a pitcher of water or a hose in case of flare ups or fires caused by the grill. You never can be TOO PREPARED.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Chicago Hot Dogs, cook best on a lower heat. Dogs are always a favorite here at the Barbie Town House. We have everything we need for a DogFest,
 Chicago-style.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Our 'Rosen' buns are prepared on their plates waiting for the scrumptious 'Dogs'.

Interesting history, the Chicago-style hot dog, made its debut at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition right here in Chicago, with Emil Reichel and Samuel Ladany selling "Vienna Sausages" at a stand in the OLD VIENNA BOOTH
on the Midway 132 years ago.

Who KNEW?

barbieooldnewgreenredo

Don't forget your favorite beverages.
(Frozen slushy cokes maybe....)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

'Dogs' of course are all about the condiments.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Make sure you have everything your guests will need ready to compliment their Dogs.
Here we have two kinds of Mustard, Chili sauce, Ketchup, Cheese, seasonings, Lettuce and onions. Don't forget Chicago style pickle-relish.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Will you have yours with or without "Glow-in-the-Dark Atomic Chicago Relish?"

barbieoldnewgreenredo

I'm a Wisconsin purist, just some catsup and a bit of green on a buttered bun. (I've given up cheese for Lent, darn)

HOW every you like it, 'Dogs' mean
Summer or for now SPRING!

( Gritting her teeth, smiling---Even if it is 43 degrees outside---I'm fricking freezing!")

barbieoldnewgreenredo

That's great Barbie, you can put your coat on now...and we will get a few stills.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ian" Aw you look Fabulous!
click, click, click.
Barbie: The lemonade is frozen?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie: What's that noise, I can't turn my head I think it's frozen.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ian: Dang...I think you have a raccoon i your garbage can..he stole a dog!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

...he just threw the hotdog out????

barbieoldnewgreenredo

After all the excitement and the critter removal.

Ian:  Okay, take a break...I'm starving.

The Little Girls in the background are conspiring.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ian trying his dog: YECH...no wonder the raccoon rejected it---the Dog's still frozen...didn't you turn on the grill?

Barbie: I couldn't get it to light, so for safety I faked it....(sigh). You couldn't tell, could you?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Chelsea: Looks like we don't get to do hoops, my Sis is doing some stupid video thing again, Melissa.

Melissa: Well, I've still got the ball, want to bet I can make that hoop shot from here?

Chelsea snickering: You wouldn't, would you?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Scarlet (Barbie's web producer): Say Ian, can you get a few shots of us...just for fun.

Ian: Sure Boss. Closeups or group?

Scarlet: Start with a group and then zoom in and catch us sipping those delicious looking drinks.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

If I aim just right!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Here Goes......

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie: Chelsea, NOOOOOOooooooooo!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

SWISHHHHHHH!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Scarlet: Yikes!!!!
SPPPPPLAAAATT!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie: Oh, no...our Drinks!

Ian: GREAT SHOT....literally!  Um, do you want me to keep rolling?

Scarlet: NOPE, I think that's enough for today!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie (sniffles): 42 degrees...Raccoons, Hoop shots, spilt drinks, frozen  Dogs...some influencer I am...what else could go wrong?

Scarlet: Well, I've had enough. Ian do you have footage to work with?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ian: Maybe I can let you know tonight, the light's gone now, too.

Scarlet: Great, okay everyone, that's a wrap and let's escape this nightmare.

Barbie: It's getting late, thanks everyone.....(Sighhhhhh!)

  1. Great story! You took plenty of photos and used a lot of props. I love Melissa's hair and outfit. It has to take a lot of time and memory to list where the clothes and other items are from. Thank you for doing that!

    1. I found him in a goodie bag at a local store, the can was the perfect size. Strangely it only opens if you wheel it around and I didn't know for the longest time there was a raccoon in there, LOL. Thanks for visiting! Sandi
