Craig, Jacquie and family are gathered in the dining room.

Craig: How did your day go dear?
Jacquie: Better than we expected. Our customers were so nice and everyone was really careful. We sure had some BAD HAIR to fix...!
Vanessa: How did the scheduling work, Mom?
Jacquie: Your scheduling worked great. The extra time added for cleaning has been pretty good. And, Lara has a cleaning service doing all the public spaces twice a day. So that helps, too.
Jacquie: Casey came in and we did her grays...she should be here soon to pick up the Peanut. How were the girls for you today, Cassidy?

(Kiara and Kimmy have kept Cassidy busy all day, while everyone was at work.)
Cassidy: Pretty much fun, they helped pack all of Kimmy's stuff to go home.
(Kimmy has stayed at Craig and Jacquie's for over two months while Casey did double shifts as a Respiratory Therapist at the hospital, serving Covid-19 patients.)
(Doorbell rings)
Craig: Come on in!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Casey: Mommy's here....!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Casey: I'm here, Kimmy! I'm going to take you home.
Kimmy: Mummy?
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Kimmy: Mummy, Mummy, Mummy.
Casey: Oh, Sweetie, Mommy's here!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Casey: I'm just going to hug you to pieces!
Kimmy: Mummy, me wuv you.
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Casey: She's so big and heavy...my goodness you are a big girl now!
Kimmy: Me big girl!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Casey: I can't thank you all enough for taking care of my baby. Now, I have a month off, and hopefully the hospital daycare will open after that. I may not go back unless I can see my girl everyday.
Jacquie: Well, everyone everywhere should thank all you nurses and doctors for all they have done. I'm glad we could help. And, she is a sweetie.
Craig: I second that, you've done a great job, Sis. I'm sure you saved lives.
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Casey: We did, I just hope this opening up Illinois doesn't cause another wave.
Jacquie: I was amazed at how cooperative all our new clients were today with all the restrictions here in Chicago.
Casey: MaryAnn sure did a great job on me. I was looking like Frankenstein's wife with all that gray.
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Tres: Auntie Casey, I can start putting Kimmy's stuff in your car.
Casey: Thanks, Tres. I left it open.
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Craig: We've got crackers, milk, juice and everything you will need for tonight. Hey, a little person sure requires a lot of stuff!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Cassidy: It's been fun, Auntie Casey.
Kiara: We had lots fun playing!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Casey: Well, I think we will go. I have a grocery delivery at 9. So I have to be there. Love all you guys! Thanks a million!
Kimmy: Tank you, bye, bye!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Vanessa: Wow! This room has an echo now. Where's Kiara?
Cassidy: I can see her, she is at the window waving!
barbieoldnewgreenredo |
Vanessa: Tres, thought you had a tear in your eye, there for a second.
Tres: I'll give you a tear, and what if I did?
Craig: (choking up) Well, I did, and I'm just thankful we could help, Casey. Now, let's have a family meal together. And let's bless ALL our heroes: the doctors and nurses and all the first responders on the front lines. And give thanks, for this meal on our table, and our good health, our jobs, and for the love we share in this family and friends...
Do you have a HEROES you want to Thank?

A very nice tribute! I was tested a couple weeks ago, drove into a pop-up tent, everyone was in full head to toe gear, it was like Army triage... Not easy times for sure. I too hope we don't have another big spike, take care!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much LYNN, I appreciate that. It's been hard enough being away from adult children, but to have to choose between your work and your child. Luckily--I control the story.., not Covid.
DeleteOh Sandi, it's a really lovely tribute post, but boy, you must have the patience of a saint!! I can write a story, but when it comes to portraying it with dolls I manage about three or four photos at the most.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, big hugs,
X
Aw, thank you---I tend to use anything good...lol, that fits the storyline, and sometimes a photo adds it's own lines. Like the Gramma photo story---they just wouldn't stand all up at the same time...suddenly the screwing around for photos, came back to me...grins! Thanks, again for stopping by.
DeleteThanks, Linda. I'm really liking them, too.I'm glad I waited and let the characters percolate a bit before delving into their lives. Thanks for stopping by! Sandi
ReplyDeleteThis was a lovely story, such great details too.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs xx
Thank you, I try to do reality based stories and still keep them suitable for younger viewers. I appreciate that you understood what I was going for and for stopping by, Sandi
