Zoomba in the Park

AD-Free Blog

Gilly has been running her Zoomba classes in the park most of the summer, right across from the
Grand View.

Gilly (right): Hey, Sindy! Are you joining class?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Sindy: I'd love to but I'm trekking down to the Farmer's Market for some fresh produce, it's apple and pumpkin season now at the bakery. Oh, and I want to thank you, most of your students show up at the bakery after classes! Thanks, bunches.

Gilly: I know the delicious smell from your shop wafts across the street. It's hard to resist. Upside is they have to come back to class and wear off those extra calories.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Sindy: We do have some low calorie fruit drinks, and light lattes. I've been keeping multi-grain zucchini cookies in stock, the cocoa ones seem to be a favorite. I have to scram now...good luck with your classes. Thanks again, Gilly!

Gilly: You too, and class is always free for you if you have time.

A few minutes later, a small crowd arrives to start class.

Gilly: Hi Everyone! Let's get on the ground and get a few good stretches to warm up.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Stretch and hold, now the other leg!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Zoe: Oh, my this really gets a good stretch.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Gilly: Remember you can also join our classes via Zoom, same fee, just in the comfort of your own home. Now let's do our other side...Stretch and hold.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie: Oh, love that music (up down, up down, up down) Now we are cranking!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Gilly: Okay, now FASTER---you can do it, up down up down, UPPPPP down.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

(Ugh, grunt, phew, ow, ugh, grunt, phew, OWWW!)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Gilly: NOW HOLD____that pose as long as you can, breathe slow and hold.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie: Phew and hold.....she says, arrrrrgh...phew.....

(40 Minutes Later)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Gilly: Okay everyone on their back, get into your Vee positions. OKAY breathe and hold. Hold as long as you can.
(Collective Groans......)

Barbie: My shoes are too heavy.

Gilly: Keep those toes up! HOLD...don't forget to breathe.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

OMG....arrrrgghgghghgh!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Gilly: How many are still with me?

(One by one they heels hit the ground.)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Kat and Gilly are the last two.

Kat: I think it was a tie, Gilly. Great class...everything hurts, LOL.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Gilly: Thanks, everyone...SUPER class! See you Tuesday, don't forget to sign up and pay online. I can only take 6 out here, but if outdoors is full you can do Zoomba on Zoom in your home. Bad weather and we do it via Zoom. Have a great day!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Gilly, Zoe and Barbie have a visit after class!

Barbie: Oh, the smells from the bakery---honestly anyone up for a pumpkin coffee or a muffin?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie: I'm starving...Sindy's Patisserie calls, definitely. I need to pick up buns for supper too.

HOW DO YOUR DOLLS keep their
SLIM FIGURES? LOL.

Thank you for visiting, I will try and answer every question and comment.

    1. Ha, Lynn. Basic Training, I went to a YMCA camp as a kid, and they made us do everything the guys did...so I think I know what you mean...! I had them all dressed in June, and then had to pack up the room. At least it isn't frost yet, thanks, Sandi

  3. I almost killed myself trying Zumba once... even worse when I tried Pilates. The Son laughed at me and said even his Mixed Martial Arts Training wasn't as brutal as Pilates, which seems so easy yet works your Core and clearly mine hadn't been Worked in a long time... mebbe even never. *LOL* So I laughed so hard seeing your Barbies doing their contortions, all that bouncing around at my Age was just not such a good Idea.

    1. LOL, I agree with you...and Pilates can be horrid, I've done over 24 months in three stretches of knee therapy with the three knee replacements...and well, each time I do, I find my waste.LOL...Figure that. Bouncing, I'm convinced is never a good thing, lol. Many Zumba moves would be horrific to set-up with the dolls...so I faked it. I really hate seeing doll stands, and they wouldn't stand for all those moves. Hugs, Sandi
