Have you seen the Barbie Movie????
Ken and Barbie have...and it gave them a great idea to go to the park and do some fun skating and skateboarding. First they pack up the newly modified Barbie Safari Scout.
This is a shot from the internet...well, it didn't look like this...all the stickers were fading or missing. And it definitely needed some updating. In the spirit of the movie, I opted to do a slight remodel, without losing the spirit of the original.
Just a. bit of paint, some silver stickum and some wonderful adhesive vinyl.
So in the spirit of the movie...Barbie was driving her own Scout. And, "Just Ken" was taking a backseat. Actually he is Dr. Ken, Barbie's room mate at this point.
Ken: Whoa! Take it easy on those turns!
Barbie: Smile, they are taking photos---since we look so great!
Ken: (Oh, the humiliation, why can't I ever drive?)
Barbie: I see a parking spot over there, did I tell you I think your shoes are Ken Kool. I like the K's on the side.
(They are those gold hi-tops that have been around for years, now and repainted with paint pens.)
Barbie: There, we are all parked, safe and sound.
(Ken adjusts his chin strap and un-grips the roll-bar.)
Barbie: They sure did a great paint job and redo on the sides and hood of the car! How are you doing Ken?
Ken: I'm great, Barbie...(are we finally stopped?)
Ken: (I don't think I have been on a skateboard in over twelve years? Maybe this isn't a good idea....)
Barbie: Thanks Ken for helping me with my skates, you are great at 'helping'.
Ken (Ten years of school and three of my residency...and all she appreciates is me helping with skates...sigh!)
,
Barbie: Actually you are the best at everything. It's been ages since we did something outside. Here's your visor!
Barbie: I feel we have forgotten something.
Ken:(Yea, knee pads and our sanity.)
Ken: There, I'm on my board, sort of. (Gosh, she looks great on skates.)
Barbie: (He looks great, but these skates are hard to even stand upon.)
Ken: (Ken, it's like riding a bike, you don't forget, um, I hope you don't forget.)
Barbie: Oh, no...Ken watch it!
Barbie: Oh, no...I'm sorry....ooops,
Ken: Ayeeee, .....(over corrects and falls forward)
Ken: (Protect my hands...protect my hands....)
Barbie: ....I'm fallllllliiinnnnggggg!
Barbie: Did anyone see....?
Ken: (I hope not....)
Barbie: Are you sure you are okay? You didn't sprain anything!
Ken: Nah...Doctors heal themselves!
Barbie: Well, maybe I'm just what the Doctor ordered?
Ken: Hmmm-mmmh! Let's go home, make popcorn and watch a movie.
Barbie: Sure, Ken...you drive!
Ken:(YAY!...I get to drive...if I remember how???)
Ken: Now, I remember why I was in the back, my feet barely fit in this thing.
Barbie: It's cute though!
Ken: No! You're the cutest!
Barbie: No, Ken. We're the cutest!
Ken: Can we get a license plate that says Barbie and Ken?
Barbie: I don't think so....
Hope you enjoyed this little Romp in BarbieLand!

DeleteOh this is so much fun!!! I've been tempted to buy one of those Barbie Corvettes, but my house is filled to the brim with dolls and doll clothes. Between the Corvette, the Motorcycle and the Vespa I fantasize about having....I'll have no more room left for my own belongings. LOL!!! P.S. No, I have not yet seen the movie, but I hope to soon.
ReplyDeletethe movie is fun and serious on many levels...enjoy. Yes, the vehicles take up room. I have a also have a camper 70's, a small European open car actually porsche size in plastic, a great VW van, motorcycle, scooter a few bicycles, and that is really all I have room for---(**well, I don't really have room lol). Hugs, Sandi
