(Special Note: I am in no way making light of our current health situations. What is out there, is a matter of life and death. I try to portray my doll's lives as realistically as I can, and still be entertaining for adults and still suitable for younger viewers. I try to address problems with solutions. Not everyone is perfect, even in a doll world. I took all these photos, before masks were suggested, but they are inside!)

Grumpy Cat...says that's fine with him. "Too many people, and my tail gets stepped on. Long as someone remembers to feed us."

Chelsea: I'm here!
Third floor-Upstairs: Nemo, Patrick and Jamie share the top floor. Two beds and a pull-out couch makes for still crowded conditions.
Rory(recently Belle in "Beauty and the Beast", in a touring show)
Rory:Hi, I'm back! My aunt sent me home with lots of home-canned vegetables, fresh veggies, fruit, and one of her prized apple pies. Hey, Nemo....I missed you!

Nemo: Missed you more, Kiddo!
Jamie: Sorry about the kitchen, Rory, I haven't had time to keep up. The bakery opened and we have been swamped. ANY food sure is welcome, it's lean pickings around here. We've had a lot of carry-out and delivery, but the budget was out of control.
I gotta go to the bakery now, it's all yours.

Midge: Hi, Rory. We sure missed you! I was going to tackle the sink next.

Rory: Well, let me take my stuff upstairs and then we can figure out what's for supper. How many people do we have now?

Richelle: Hi, Rory. Ryan and I are working from home and here all the time now.
Kevin: I'm here for meals, Ken is at the hospital and doesn't come here at all now. Danny's stuck in Vancouver while working on a show.

Ryan: The printer isn't working downstairs, so I'm at this desk. The city never sleeps, pandemic or not.

Kevin: Sure and you playing "Call to Duty," is part of your job?

Ryan: Well, it's not like a gazillion permits are being submitted right now. I just have to be available for the job. You know it's amazing how much you can get done without the watercooler and people interrupting you at work.

Stuart and Aidan watch TV in the living room.
The HFIM Covid19 rules are: keep your distance, clean up after yourself, and WASH YOUR HANDS. They sleep downstairs, in their mini-apartment.
Stuart: Aidan and I, we'll eat whatever anyone cooks!!! What time is dinner?
Midge: Belle is upstairs working and doing wash. Mulan's gone-house sitting for some friends, who are trapped in Hong Kong. Sindy and Barbie are at the bakery. They will be home for dinner. I think that is all, unless I forgot someone.

It's Belles turn to do the wash, and while she's working with her young students online. It takes extra time to have lesson plans that are visual and clear, for all levels of her students and their parents. Exasperating, at the least, for everyone.
The HFIM house has plenty of wipes to clean the bathroom, laundry room with, and lots of bleach and cleaning products.

Midge (in the kitchen): Peder and Ian are working construction downstate, so, I think we are only fourteen and of course no guests. Can you work with that? But, there is only one serious problem in our HFIM house, of course, it's....

ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn. Consumer crafts----occasionally has a sale. Many are 1:12 scale so make sure you look at measurements, these are borderline small! I did order some glassware from them though that works.
DeleteAlways enjoy your stories. I am a 1/12 person and adore making scrapcraft accessories. You may find pictures in sales fliers that are more the right size. Saran Wrap or a layer of Mod Podge will often give things the plastic wrap look (like a package of bacon or bag of chips. I have been known to paint metal bunny charms a chocolate brown with yellow and turquoise eyes for Easter!
ReplyDeleteAw, Kathy, thanks for stopping by. It takes me over an hour to go through a craft store...looking carefully in every department to find stuff for the dolls. Most exciting were the cake pillars (columns) in the cake decorating aisles. I think I have used every size now. And, the charms sometimes are too small, but I have used plastic buttons for many things! And of course the dollar store toy aisles...! You reminded me, I have buttons I bought last year to use as cookies, I will have to drag them out and photo quick before Easter is over! Thanks for stopping by!
