Hi, Doll Lovers and the rest of you...!
Last week I won a raffle at our zoom meeting for Windy City Collectors Barbie Doll Club...phew, we go by WCCBDC...most of the time. Anyway, look what arrived.

She's a 1997 FAO Schwarz "Barbie Joins the Rockettes"

She was very happy to be out of the box and kick up her heels. (I had to use some purple shoes as her gold ones refused to stay on in those high kicks.) She has the TNT body with bendable legs.

She came with her own billboard, gold shoes, a gold ticket and of course the purple brush.

All my Super stars have been second hand and the hair trashed. She has the soft mohair so I won't be screwing with it at all. The jacket is adorable the bowtie comes off, and a nifty hat. the body suit is sparkly woven and she has well fitting pink hose.

The gold cane and jewelry round out her ensemble.

A cardboard Barbie wears a second outfit...one I will have to use for Mardi Gras.

I've always enjoined the Rockettes, since I was a little girl and couldn't wait to see the Macy's Parade, and when they visited the Ed Sullivan shoooe..um, show. Showing my age there!

Here's a view of all those ruffles on her train...going to be very cute for Mardi Gras!
Special thanks to Nelly H for the donation.
Do you have dolls that are happy to
escape their Boxes?
Thanks for viewing and feel free to ask me any questions or inquiries, and I will get back to you.

Adorable:@) I love the little bow tie and the second outfit is very festive-congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn. She really is pretty cute! I will have to make one of your masks, for Mardi Gras! Ha! Sandi
DeleteHi, Linda. Not real mohair, but that very soft-fine texture. I think if you comb the curl it would be gone. I've seen many of these Superstar hair that have been totally trashed. I've often bought a doll simply for the outfit and then donated the doll back to the thrift store. Yes, her outfits are pretty cute!! Sandi
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, As I often say.... if you don't take the dolls out of their boxes, they won't come alive!!! I have a reputation of liberating dolls as soon as they arrive which is probably why so many dolls have found their way to my door (LOL)!That is a very nice prize....like the Christmas present Santa delivered a little late! I never knew there were Barbie Rockettes. How much fun is that!!!! Their little costumes are super cute!
ReplyDeleteFAO Schwarz, I think was just down the road from Radio City Music Hall...home of the Rockettes. Great cross merchandising for both...lol. And thanks, I am saving the box on this one, thought it isn't perfect, but I did dump a bunch of boxes last week, room is worth more once they have escaped, LOL. Thanks for stopping by.

Sandi I have to show this post to my granddaughters--they will love it! I also love the Rockettes
ReplyDeleteEnjoy. All my doll posts are granddaughter safe...even the 'adult' stories have a 'moral' behind them. Thanks so much for visiting! Sandi
DeleteHow fun, Sandi! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
