Baking Cookies in the HFIM House

    Barbie: We have to make sugar cookies for the guys---and lots of them, since they are all home most of the time now.


    Monnie: This dough rolls out pretty easy...even with all that butter.


    Barbie: My Grandmother always said, "Cook with lots of love and lots of butter."

    Monnie: I love the extra vanilla. Are we going to make gingerbread cut-outs? They are my favorite! 


    Barbie: Sure...if we have all the spices.

    Monnie: I wish we had a few more cookie trays.


    Bing! 
    Monnie: They look almost done! 


    A few hours later---
    and...Lots of dough, frosting, candies and some sparkling sugar...and some hot cocoa! The gingerbread smells so good, too.

    All the cookies are made with Polymer clay, rolled very thin and baked in a glass tray in the oven according to your product's directions.

    I used craft paints with a brush, fabric paints (squeeze bottles) and some glitter paints also. I've also used some puffy fabric paint which looks like frosting and clear glitter works well as sugar, sprinkle on the fresh paints, they skin over quickly.

Little Bit of LOVE!

Midge received a call from an old friend. They decided to meet for a glass of wine at a local restaurant on February 13th.
 It was very cold and snowy in Chicago that evening.

Mystery Man: I think I remember, where that is. Sure, I think it's been fifteen years, Midge. I'll see you at 6PM then! Bye....!

Midge: What a surprise, Allan, I thought you were still based in London.

Allan White: I was, but now I've transferred back to the states. I guess I just missed Chicago Pizza, and jukeboxes.

Alan: There's something comforting, about Chicago bricks and jukeboxes...and home.

Midge: I know what you mean, when I was in Malibu, I missed the cold and snow and the changing of the seasons. When Barbie moved back, and then Chris, well, I guess I just had to follow. Besides, now I can visit my Mom anytime. She's still in Willow, Wisconsin.

Allan: Did ever you miss me, us?
Midge: Of course, but we have both grown up now. We aren't kids anymore.

Allan: I think we need some more wine! Waiter!

Midge: Maybe just one more---small---bottle. 

Allan:I love the inefficiency of American waiters---and leaving us alone. What have you been up to since you are back in the Midwest?

Three hours later, and two 'small' bottles of wine....some cheese, fruit and lots of conversation. The 'old' friends venture out into the cold winter's night.

Gabby(Gabriella):Can you believe school starts in two weeks...and it's still so hot! What DOES your dog want?

Chelsea: Yugh, school! That's just Foofie...she just wants you to pet her or feed her. You're chewing gum, she thinks you have treats.  I suppose we could play badminton in the park, even though it's hot.

Gabby: Wow, she's really friendly! I think it's too hot for exercise. It's too hot for donuts, even fruit! Hi, Foofie---pffttt , don't lick my face please.

Ginny(low): Is it always this hot in Chicago? This is very hot compared to Shrewsbury, also. 

Ashley: It's hot for here, too. This is a fun, take that! Score!

Barbie: Hey, Girls! Is everyone having a good time?

Barbie (raising her voice): HOW ABOUT WE ALL GO FOR ICE CREAM, OUR TREAT!?

A second of Quiet then all hands raise! 

Gang: YES, Yes, YESSSSSSS!...Chocolate?, root beer float?, YAY! Lovely!

Barbie: I guess that's a yes. Someone please rescue the food and bring it inside, and then let's start walking! I heard the ice cream truck in the park!

Foofie: Grrrrrrrrr!

Barbie: Maybe the neighbors won't complain about the noise now, phew! And ice cream sounds very good! And so does some shade!

Diorama: 2 sided backdrop from Our Generation--clearance for $2 
furniture all vintage or thrift store. HFIM House is a townhouse purchased for $6.99 and redone. Fence is a wooden dish drainer-folded up. Grass is scrapbook paper. Fruit-tray-tray vintage Mattel except watermelon is a mini eraser. Game-Dollar store. Garbage cans-pencil holders from Walmart, also saw some at the Dollar store this week.

Clothes: I think these are all vintage Mattel except, MK's pants and Gabby's outfit, are Sparklez. (Sparklez sometimes fits Barbie, but Gabby is a teen Stacie, this set ran small in the capris.)

Donuts are embellishments for scrapbooking, they are very flat, but nicely detailed, so call them donut cookies.

Foofie is from the movie, Secret Life of Pets. She's 'Gidget' and a Pomeranian purchased at 70% off from a book store. (She gets more fan mail than anyone else in the HFIM family.)
