Misplaced Miscellaneous photos...from this year and my AA dolls.

Ad-Free Blog

Grand Intentions, or, I took photos for a reason and then didn't use them. I have lots of senior moments.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Remember the days when You were YOUNG...like pre-teen, and you all piled into a friends house and had an impromptu lunch...probably sandwiches and tomato soup...but it wasn't planned, and it was great.

Piles of kids clothes in the livingroom.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Chelsea is hostess and next to her Auntie Chris.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Sister Barbie, friend Mellissa, Skipper and Scooter (cousins).

Not enough photos for a story---but still cute....don't know what I was thinking?

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Portrait unnamed?

Random photo of my early TNT...don't know if I have shown her here before or not. I have quite a few pieces of clothes that were for TNT's...and I paired the vintage jeans with a new shirt..FAB! I think she is. She's lost a click in one leg, but that's it and is in very good condition otherwise.

barbieooldnewgreenredo

I also worked on some new dolls. This is Rainbow...she has the crazy cheetah head on the side, but she is cute and well, we do have all kinds in my doll world and she is different.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Another new guy, Walter, or Walt. He has clicks, but will set him aside for maybe a new body. Bodies and faces from the past leave a lot to be desired, but he isn't too bad. Besides, the female to male ratio is definitely out of whack!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

This handsome dude has been named Mark---reminds me of someone from high school. He's one of the shorter GIJoes, so he will have have to find a short girl...lol. He may need a toe trim...as his feet are huge. otherwise, he is in excellent condition and fully articulated. Upside he will fit short slacks with the short legs.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

I named the BTS doll on the left---BOWIE..someone messed with his hair for sure, then I added, and I may fool around with it more. This is the third one of the group I've found in his original suit for under $3.00 each. Rainbow, on the right, was new Extra doll and she will be fun to dress Hippie style...!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

This gal is going to be Cherilyn...been picking up these Extra dolls for under $12.00 here and there...which is cheaper than ordering MTMoves for bodies. But, I get them home and get charmed by their faces, not to mention the crazy clothes and long hair.
Cherilyn, will be repainted to CHER...I don't think it will take much, maybe some cheek shadow, and eyes/ deep dark red/brown lipstick. She will also have a hippie vibe, which will be a nice addition to my doll neighborhood. I can't wait to get her into some yellow bell bottoms!

During Black history month, I decided to go through my dolls and eliminate duplicates and let some go.
barbieoldnewgreenredo

Here are theAA's/Black dolls I'm keeping.
Some are duplicates, mostly because there is a mjor hair/ or makeup difference.
Left to Right back row-Whitney, Kathryn, Shyla.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Zara, Dee-Dee, Carmel

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Cece, Jacquie, Carly

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Carly got cut off in the last photo.

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Darla, Vanessa or Vanny (Jacquie's daughter), and Lanise(short hair)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

I know these three gals are the 'same-ish' The first one is Marly---Carly's first cousin, the gal in the middle is Nikki---the original Nikki from  "In the Dreamhouse", so this is the only shot you will ever see them all together. Hair and makeup styles are different, Marly is streaked wiry hair and has eyelashes, Niki has very soft Dark hair, and Carly has an orange tinge to her medium brown locks. These girls are all fully articulated except for feet, which is fine.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal, who is Colette/Callie's nemesis cousin.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Of course, Colette and her mom, Ella. Both Divas and lots of fun to work with.

Added in My Black history post for the Billie Holliday special was Jennifer---loosely disguised as a Chicago local girl made really good in the music world.
She definitely put Colette's nose out of joint, which maybe good for future story fodder.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Jennifer....hmmm-mmmh! We will have to see more of her!

I have a few more dolls that are in the transition pile, needing bodies or may be leaving. I would love to find older AA's, or even repro's, and AA guys are even harder!

That's all that was still lingering in my photos---and now they are neatly filed away and used.

Doll Story: Ella, Callie, and Company.

Ad-Free Blog

We last left the GrandView residents' party with Emilie and Ella having some terse words.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Emilie: I am going to 'move my butte', as you so often command, Meez Ella, to 3A with Henri. And, zen you may vait on Meez Colette.

Ella: (Hmmmph!) It's about time,....you go for it girl! Callie will just have to learn to manage her own affairs. 'Bout time too, she's going to be thirty-somethun'.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Henri: Emilie and I didn't want to cause trouble.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie(Colette) 2A: That's enough, Mama.

Gerard (on the left):(whispers) Callie, I can move in with you now.

(So, dear friends, how do you think this will
go? It's a week later at the StoneWall gardens, and let's see what Ella is up to now.)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ella: The sun is divine here. I signed the contracts this morning, and won't Callie be surprised to find out I bought Emilie's share of the Condo, dear sweet niece.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal: I hope you didn't buy it, just so I could stay with you?

Ella: Don't be silly, it's a good investment and a fair price. I'd do anything to keep Gerry from moving in with Callie again.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal: I didn't realize they were still together.

Ella: He thinks they are...just making sure Callie doesn't agree with him.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal: Well, as soon as I find a job, I'll find somewhere else to stay, Auntie El.

Ella: Nonsense Sweetie. You are welcome to stay with us for as long as you like.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie: Mama, you phoned me to meet you here...it's so hot here!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ella: Nonsense, girl it's a lovely day. Remember my sister's youngest, Opal.

Opal:(mumbles) Hi, cuz.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie: I sure do, she wrecked my first car! And, drew magic markers on my prom dress.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal: Oh, cousin Callie, I was just a little kid. I'm sorry, I'd never do that now. I thought I was making a rainbow Princess dress for you.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie: And, the CAR?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie: And, you are not staying in my home. Not ever!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ella: But, she is staying in my home. I signed the papers this morning. Emilie sold me her part of the condo.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie: Mama, where did you get the money for that? You've been living off me for seven months? Never mind! I bet I don't want to know.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal: Please don't fight because of me. I'll only stay for a little while, I have two interviews set up for this week. Good jobs, Callie. I promise I will pay you back.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie: This isn't all your fault, Opal.  I just have to get used to the idea.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal: Oh, thank you cuz! I knew you would be so kind, you were always my favorite cousin and you have lived in Paris, you have to tell me all about it!

Callie: (pulling away) Oh, pillow talk will be sooo much fun. (grimace)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Opal:(That was easy...and Paris isn't such a big deal!) I need to unpack and iron my suit for my interview. I'll see you later at home in 2A.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ella: I thought Emilie would have told you. I hadn't realized she owned more than half of YOUR condo. I made a great deal, I only paid what she paid. So, I think I'll take the big bedroom and you girls can share the smaller one!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie:You have to be joking, Mother?

barbioeoldnewgreenredo

Ella: I never joke about closet space or square footage.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Callie: But, Gerard was going to move in as soon as our album is finished. Mama, how could you!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ella: Never, he'll never be in my house. He's no better for you now than when you were fifteen. Tell him to pay you back all that money he owes you for Paris.

Callie: He's reinvesting it in my career, Mama. It takes a bankroll to do an album, just getting it made. Let alone, promoting it. (soft sobbing)

Ella: Lord's sakes, don't cry, he just isn't worth it. I still have money left from Grammy's house....

Callie: Mama, promise me you won't let Opal know that.

Ella: You think I was born yesterday...?

And there is Always more later....

Jacquie and "Hair Stories"

Jacquie and Craig's early morning breakfast together.

Jacquie: I'm so worried, we will have to shut down again, if the cases keep rising. Our customers are afraid, too. We've had some cancellations. Vanessa's
online customer data has helped us fill the cancellations, but for how long?
barbieoldnewgreenredo

Craig: Honey, I know this is hard. I feel lucky, I know I'll have work through December, at this point. This disease can't go on forever.

Jacquie: I sure hope not.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vanessa: Look what I picked up at our youth circle meeting last night.

Jacquie: I heard you come in, but I was dead tired and already in bed. How many people were there?

Vanessa: Only three, we had a mini-meeting and kept 6 feet apart, but the speaker, Ms. Joanna McGee Bradford was wonderful.

Craig: I hope you wore your mask, and what's in that box?

Jacquie: And, set yourself down girl and have some breakfast.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vanessa: Ms. Bradford was so uplifting for the group last night, and we Zoomed with another 9 people. These little books are about, "Hair Stories." I have a whole box of them to sell in the shop.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Jacquie: A whole box...?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vanessa: Yes, I sat up reading most of these short devotional stories. You know how somedays, your hair just wants to teach you a lesson? Well, some are funny, sad, and thoughtful. Every story shows us how we view ourselves and others through our hair. And, how our experiences with hair can be teaching moments.

I laughed and even cried at a few, but I saw myself on every page, Momma.  Each story has an interpretation and scripture to help us make ourselves better, perfect for now when everyone is so down.

Jacquie: But, Vanessa, we are barely breaking even at the Salon. How much are these and how are we going to pay for them?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vanessa: It's the perfect thing for your customers. Uplifting and wonderful for gifts.
No cost to you, Momma, this is my project. I believe in this book, and it will do good for your customers. Just sell them for $9.99. "Hair Stories" is also sold on Amazon, it's a real book with a real message.

Jacquie: Well, I will have to read some of this first.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vanessa: Of, course, how about I'll just put a few in the car for you, okay?

Jacquie:I like the cover, let me read the back.

Jacquie: Vanessa, I'll take three, one for each of my stylists, they have been working so hard. And, we will see if they like it and we will try them in the Salon.

Vanessa: Okay, I will put ten in the car for you? Love you Momma, you too, Dad.
(Vanessa leaves)

Jacquie paging through the book: Oh my, I think we have seen quite a few of these situations in the shop, and myself...OH, MY....this is me, right here.

Craig smiles: Vanny, wouldn't steer you wrong. She sure is your daughter. All that energy and wisdom.

Jacquie: OUR daughter, you raised her since she was five. I'm losing track of time...I have to go...I'll be late tonight, we have late appointments this evening, so I'll be home after 8PM.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Craig: Tres and I will make supper. How's chops on the grill sound?

Jacquie: Almost as good as this breakfast, I'm off, and you have a great day!
