Going Home: Part 3 Morning After

We left Richelle, sleeping alone on the couch. She finally drifted off to sleep.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

"What's that noise, MO-om, what are you doing?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Mom: "I just thought we should all have breakfast together and have a talk?"

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Dad: "I need more coffee, please."

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: "I just need a new head, but coffee would be nice, thank-you."

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: "Well, I'm wide awake now. What do you 'boys' have to say for yourselves? And, that means you, too, Dad."

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Mom: "Who's going to want porkies and bacon? Ryan how do you like your eggs?"

Richelle: "Ryan, what happened?"

Ryan: No thank you, Mom. Richelle, I'm sorry we were celebrating. And, if we are going to be married, we can't go to bed angry."

Richelle: "I wasn't angry, you were passed out face down ACROSS the bed."

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Mom: "Waffles or toast?"

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Dad: "Richelle, honey, this was my fault. Ryan wanted to come back after the dart tournament and well, it all just got out of hand. He wanted to come back and be with you."

Mom: "Ryan, Richelle, what's this about you getting married? No one has said anything to me. The waffles are done."

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan:"Richelle, will you be my wife, forever....because I love you and your family."

Richelle:Oh, Ryan, yes, I will marry you. And, don't leave the toilet seat up. That's not too much to ask for, is it?"

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Dad: "Ryan, don't give in on that one. Now that is settled, pass the syrup."

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: "I love you, sweetie, to the moon and back. I'm sorry."

Richelle: "I love you, too, Ryan. Forever and ever."

Mom: "Oh, wonderful. How about a May wedding at Uncle Jim's farm in Woodstock. We've already talked to him and it's only about sixty miles from Chicago and then all your friends won't have to come all the way up here."

Richelle: "Sure Mom, but, I thought you said no one talked to you about this?"

Dad: "May would be good, and before the season. We got full cabin rentals after Memorial Day. Your Mom was just like me, she knew right away Ryan was the one for our Richelle. We always know these things, ya know. And, welcome to the family, Son!"

Ryan: "Phew, maybe I will try some of those porkies and eggs, now, Mom. And, please pass the coffee. I'm starving."

Dad: "Better stock up, Son. We are doing an ice fishing derby, today."

Richelle: "But, Dad......?"

Mom; "I thought we could go by Marla's and look at dresses. Who's going to be in the wedding? You promised your cousin she could be in your wedding, when you were seven, and she remembers."

Richelle: "Mom, dresses, oh, which cousin?...oh, my."

Going Home cont.: Bedroom action!

Late Friday--We left Richelles family and Ryan having a great time at the bowling alley. From there Mom, Dad, Richelle, Rocky and Ryan are off to a pot luck at the Rod and Gun Club & Bar.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

After a quick dinner Mom and Richelle go back to the cabin, while the 'boys' are left to their own devices.

Richelle: Mom, I hope Dad doesnt' give Ryan a lot to drink. He's a real light-weight, one glass of wine and he's done for the night.

Mom: I hope so too, I saw Ryan with Rocky and his friends, I hope he doesn't like beer.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Mom: Ryan must have taken my jacket, since I'm wearing his now. But, it's really great to have you home. Now, that we are alone, why make this trip in the middle of winter?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: Ryan isn't here, can we talk about something else. It sure is chilly in here. Can you kick up the heat?

Mom: Sure...tell me about your job, and the HFIM house. I get to see your facebook page, but everyone else is strangers. Tell me about them.

Three and a half hours later, a truck zooms into to the woods outside. The cabin door flies open....and it's a CHEESEHEAD!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: Wuuuucy! I'm home....Hey Der, Chickie-Babe!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
''

Ryan: Your brother made me an OFFICIAL CHEESEHEAD....! I need a kiss, now!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: MMMMMMUH! OH...uh oh, it's Mom, but I luuuuvvvvvvy you, too! I gotta use the little boys room. (He tromps to the bathroom, singing, "In heaven there is no beer.....that's why I drink it here..."

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: Honest I'm aiming but the 'john' keeps moving around!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Mom: Well, that's my cue to leave, I will have to rustle up food for the other two, I'm sure. Sleep in tomorrow if he needs it.

Richelle: Good night Mom, we will see you in the morning.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: Ryan, are you okay in there?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: I'm great! I won my hat for eating the most deep fried cheesecurds---THEY are awesome. You never told me about cheesecurds.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle:Well, you don't even want cheese on pizza, you said it upsets your stomach.

Ryan: Oh, well, these were great--luv my hat!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: Come give me a kiss-----(HUGE BELCH)! ooooh, cheesecurds are awesome.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: Let me help, you took Mom's jacket and scarf.

Ryan: YEP, they are Packer green and gold and the Bears really SUCK!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: Helps me with these pants and who turned off the lights???

Richelle: OMG!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: Stay still---and point your toes, please....RYANNNNN!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan flips over on his stomach singing, "And when we are gone from heeeeere, our friends will be drinking all the beer! La, la, la, la, la, ......I luv you....come give me a kiss, Chickie-babe....my stomach hurts."
(soft snores into the pillow)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle turns down the lights...and changes into her nighty and Mom's sweater jacket....

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Oh, my...have I made the right decision. I thought he was a nice, stable---city guy. And, in one night, he's ruined!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Sigh, so much for a romantic night in the Northwoods-----on the couch!

Richelle and Ryan: Going Home

Friday at 6:30AM, Ryan and Richelle loaded the HFIM van and drove to Northern Wisconsin to visit her parents.

Ryan: I can hardly see out the back window...we filled the entire van, and I only had one bag and my briefcase.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: And the cooler, and your computer. Don't cry to me if you are frozen up there because you didn't bring enough clothes.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

(Almost 9 hours later---rolling down a gravel road in Nicolet National Forest.)

Ryan: Are we there yet? Even the GPS isn't working up here. Are we in Canada?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle:Ya, cell reception is horrible up here. We are almost there, I think through that bunch of fir trees. Look at it this way, we didn't need passports.

Ryan: There....I see lights...Christmas Lights.
barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: There's Mom and Dad, and that doofus is my brother.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Todd (Richelle's Dad): Hey there, welcome to the northwoods. We were about to send out the dogs for you.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Todd: How long are ya staying, or are there more people buried under all that.

Richelle: Oh, Dad....

Ryan whispers: I told you so...

(Richelle jumps out of the car and hugs her mom.)

Karen: Oh, sweetie, I have missed you so...but, let's go inside and let the boys unpack the car.  We got Cabin 6 all ready for ya.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: Oh Mom, I've missed you, too!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Karen: Now Richelle, you have to tell me all about your young man.

Richelle: Um, not too much to tell. He should be here in a moment if Dad and Rocky don't dump him in a snowbank. You've fixed the cabin up nice. Not too many left-over pieces of furniture.

Karen: Ya, I've been sewing like crazy this week. Do you like the new couch covers.

Richelle: Very colorful and cozy...I love the new rug and floors, and the fish boil pictures. Can we hide my trophies though?

Karen: Aw, leave them there. You can pack them and take them back with you. We stocked the fridge, lots of beers and your favorite juice. I baked a kolache cake, with apricots.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Karen: The new coffee pot is drip, so you have to boil water. You can do that, right!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: Sure Mom, what's keeping the guys?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Todd (Richelle's dad): I'm coming Rocky, I got most of the clothes. How much of this is yours, Ryan?
I don't need to ask, 'Chellie always had to have a ton of clothes.

Rocky: Wow, this is a handful, too.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Kicking the door noise! bam, bam bam!)

Todd: Coming through!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Rocky: Sis are you staying for a month? I only seen one bag for your boyfriend.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Rocky: You want all of this in the bedroom? (Rocky dumps the last load on the bed.

Richelle: Dad this is Ryan, the guy in the BEARS shirt???? Ryaaaannnn? Honestly, what were you thinking?

Ryan: It was clean, and honestly it was 5AM. Nice to meet you sir.

Todd: Sorry son, ya will have to leave, this is Packer country. Ha, ha, ha, not really, I'm just sorry for ya, such a dismal season.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: The Bears are rebuilding, Sir. Next year will be better! And where's my bag, Richelle, please, so I can change my shirt?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Todd: Well Honey, if he cleans up okay, I suppose we can take him bowling. Big tournament tonight and a pot luck at the Rod and Gun, after. There's a dart tournament at 10pm, if we make it in time.

Richelle: Oh, great. Ryan, they have the best Fish Fry, we have to go.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: Thanks for the invite, Sir. Fish, yes my favorite. What time do we leave?

Todd: I'll give ya a half hour to unpack and change that shirt. I don't want Richelle to lose 'another' boyfriend over football. See ya in a bit.

(After unpacking)

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: I'm whooped, that was a really long drive.
What's this about another boyfriend lost to...football, Chellie?

Richelle: Long story and it had to do with the Vikings...sigh! We better get going, I can hear Dad starting the truck.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: I can see where you get your designing skills, from your mom. Early rod and gun design. Nice picture.

Richelle: It's a Fish Boil...a big deal up here in Wisconsin.

(Ryan --winks at her!)

Ryan: Well that's a fine kettle of fish you have gotten us into. So, when are we going to tell them?
