BARBIEOLDNEWGREENREDO

Barbie in Pretty Changes #2598

AD-Free Blog

Here is my Barbie No.3 modeling in the park. The outfit is from Pretty Changes #2598 1979-81. I found in a mixed lot online. This outfit originally came with a blonde doll in 1979.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

It's pretty complete clothing wise, but minus those yellow strappy heels
(the ones that are impossible for old fingers to work), the jewelry PINK-Why? rose jewelry, and a brown hair fall?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

The pieces shown here, are the satin jumpsuit (nicely made, I may copy it for a pattern), a long sleeved jacket in lace, lace overskirt, extra ruffle scarf,-I have used for the collar, and the white netting hat.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

I've paired it with a yellow purse/tote. I know I have a smaller purse somewhere, in Vickie's Vintage stash. Peeling off the jacket, she shows the versatility of the outfit.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

The overskirt, makes a great cape. I think the scarf could be used on the hat also.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

I love the jumpsuit. I want to make one in some white linen. Very nice fit through the legs.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

It seems a little large for this Barbie, but then the 1970 Barbie was pretty busty. Every piece is in excellent condition.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Well that's the photo shoot for this going to be '60' Barbie.
I think she is ageless, though and can wear just about anything, well!

Barbie Vintage Finds August 2018

AD-Free Blog

I found quite a bit of vintage clothing for the dolls in the last few weeks.
Since SAVERS has continued to sell their dolls clothed, I haven't found much there in the way of clothing bags, there.  I did find some great outfits at the local thrift store,
and ordered two lots on Ebay.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Some great Ken clothes---original in excellent condition. Zippers and snaps all intact. Anytime I find
old Ken clothes, I'm thrilled.

The gals got lucky too. Almost everything is in excellent condition. Anytime I see a huge house displayed in great condition, I know I will find good clothes.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Some of these are really old. you can tell by the fabrics. 1960's all the way to some current pieces.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

My girl's are already fighting over these.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Also a few mini's. Some clip charms and some delicious food magnets. Love the abacus and harmonica, just some great small things.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

More clothes. I haven't had time to research any of these. Love the Barbie tuxedo.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Lots of color variety and a few great denims. Only problem with buying hit and miss, is you don't get complete outfits, but sometimes you do.

Stay tuned, for my 1960 Barbie modeling one of these finds.

Air Conditioning is off at the HFIM house.

AD-Free Blog

It's August in Chicagoland. The one-hundred and fifteen year old HFIM house is still being remodeled. And, for the second time this summer the house is without power and airconditioning and it's 94 outside and humid.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Barbie: My goodness, I think I'm going to melt. Can't we fill the pool?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Sindy: No, no power for the filters and my battery on my laptop is almost done, I'll have to go down to the cafe and plug in there.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Rory: Sindy most of the block is without power. Our super-duper Airconditioner man---blew the whole block. When is it going to be fixed? At least we have clean dishes, I ran them last night. Lucky the fridge is empty, I was going shopping this afternoon.

Sindy: My email says ETA by 6PM. Where are the kids...? I'm dripping on my comp! Yech!

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Up in the guys' room and patio---the preteens have found a way to stay cool with the rooftop breeze off the lake.  The are having a good time, despite no video games or TV.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Carly: Hi guys, say I can have four of you stay at our place tonight. Vickie is still gone and Zoe went home to Canada for a week. I'm all alone. We have room for four and more if someone wants to sleep on the floor.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Midge: That might be a possibility. Thanks, Carly. When are Vickie and Joe coming back?

Carly: Should be by Friday! A note from the resort said they were staying an extra week. Just as well, construction on the store is still flummoxed. Something about the stairs and ceiling struts not being code.

Out in the yard, everyone is deciding what to do.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Nemo: Well, too bad we can't fill the pool. The pump wouldn't be working though.

Stephan: Yea, no milk either. I'm starving. Should we go find some food?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ian:I'm in for food.

Ryan: Well this air-conditioning thing is going to set back the budget again. We aren't ever going to finish this house.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Aidan: It's not too bad in the basement apartments, if you like living by candlelight. I'm in for food.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Aidan: Let's go---we aren't getting anything done sitting here. How about a movie after food?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Ryan: Thanks, Aidan but, we are sticking with the parents now that Richelle is here.

Richelle: Phew! It was bad at the worksite, too. The construction foreman is waiting on the new struts. Hi, Mom and Dad. Looks like you have been shopping. Levi's???

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Todd and Karen (Richelles Parents) are from way up north in Wisconsin.

Todd:  And, yea, I found my favorite 'Levi's'. And, your mom bought out the store.

Karen: Well, all we wear is denim, LOL.  Let's go get lunch somewhere with air-conditioning. We could talk about the delayed wedding, again?

Todd: And, we have to leave tomorrow. How about you two staying with us at the hotel, tonight?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Richelle: (She looks dumfounded) Um, sure, that would be okay, lunch I mean. I look a fright. Wearing a hardhat really doesn't help melting hair. But, let's go and I can show you sketches of my latest projects.

Ryan: Maybe the air will be fixed by tonight, but lunch sounds good.

Always stuff going on at the Home For Impoverished Millennials (HFIM) house.

Everyone but the kiddies are in Denim for theme on Doll Divas.

All my dolls shown today are rescues, except for Richelle, who was purchased new and gifted a rescued articulated body.

Seven Days Six Nights: Part 6 a Surprise

AD-Free Blog

After snorkeling and bike riding all day....Vicky unwinds in the hut, waiting for Joe to show up.

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vickie: Honestly, where are you Joe? I've already finished almost a whole pitcher of these mojitos. He has some ----answering to do! Hmmph!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Hey doll, look what I speared for supper.
Vickie: Well, it's about time!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Um, what? I didn't take that long---I see you have started without me?

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Vickie: I haven't started ===apparently. What DID you have in mind! Hmmph!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Vickie: What is this over the bed, and what's THAT for?

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: (looks confused) Um....it's not what you think. That's gear for zip-lining tomorrow up on the mountain.

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Pedro left the gear for us to use tomorrow.

Vickie: (Hic-cup!) Um, oh, okay. How high is the zip lining going to be?

Joe: Well, not over the bed, only maybe 50 feet or so.... your in, aren't you?

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Vickie: Well that is going to need a lot more Mojitos. Hmmmph! (50 feet that's 5-stories high, he has to be kidding!)

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Hold that thought, doll. I'm just going to clean this fish and take a quick shower. I'll be right back to cook you dinner!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
(Joe sneaks back in the hut while Vickie is napping and prepares supper).
Joe: Hmmm, she's pretty quiet now. I'll just let her calm down.

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Vickie: Zzzzzzzz, snort.....zzzzzzzzz.

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Hey, Vick, dinner is on the table. Do you want hot sauce?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vickie: zzzzzzz......mmmm-uh---uh....fiftyr-r--rrr you got to be kidding....zzzzz.

barbieoldnewgreenredo
(Next day bright and early they hike up the island's mountain)

Vickie: EEEEEEEEek!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Vickie: Wheeeeeeeeeeee, it's gorgeooooooouuuuuuusssss!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
(the line slows as it goes over the falls.....and she gasps at the beauty.)

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: I'm right behind you!

AAAAAhahahahahhagghghghahaahahahah! (Tarazan YELL!)

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Look out----I can't stop .....!

Vickie goes--- OOOooooF! Thump!

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Sorry Vick, you okay!

Vickie: (Giggle) I'm fine, loved that Tarzan yell, you're funny, Joe.

barbieoldnewgreenredo
Joe: Just so you are okay....?

Vickie: I'm always good in your arms, Tarzan. Can we Do IT again?

Joe: Go down again? That means, walking back Up the mountain Jane?

barbieoldnewgreenredo

Vicky: Only if you carry me then, Tarzan.

Tarzan: Well, Jane, we only have this last day before we return to civilization.  I suppose, I can try!

Vickie and Joe: AwwwwwwAhhhhhhhh-AOOOOoooooooooAAAAAWwwww!

(to be continued---to going home)
